Beth Alvarado is the author of ANTHROPOLOGIES,a memoir, from University of Iowa Press, 2011, as well as the short story collection,Not a Matter of Love, winner of the2005 Many Voices Award from New Rivers Press, published in 2006. Her fiction and creative nonfiction have been published in many literary journals, most recently Ploughshares,Cue: A Journal of Prose Poetry,andspork. She teaches in Oregon State University's low residency MFA program and lives in Bend, Oregon. A new collection of her essays is due out in 2019 from Autumn House Press.
